der weg ist das ziel

We arrived in Helsinki this morning after 30 hours on a ferry. It was nice at first, but the second night was quite stormy, so we didn't sleep that great in on the floor (our "Ruhesessel" weren't quite as comfortable as the name suggests...). The baltic sea is very nice, and the food was horrendously expensive (20 euros for a lunch buffet... luckily we had brought food...) and most of the food contained meat, fish or gelatin (as I read on the packging of my joghurt...). But I love the sea, so all's good :-)
Today I noticed that people complaining about long German words should take a look at Finnish words... Not that I understand any of it (which is a new experience for me: being in Europe and not understanding anything... In most European countries I've been to I could at least make out what things probably mean... But I can make things out when they're written in sami :-) )
As I haven't experienced anything really exciting yet I'll just keep this entry short :-)

Aber noch ein P.S. an Luise: Was planst du fuer eine Ueberraschung?! Ich ahne nichts gutes... (Bin ich jetzt wieder schön dominant? :-P) Naja, solange ich dich denn dann um Weihnachten rum sehe... Ich fuerchte nur, dass du die anderen damit nicht wirst befriedigen können...
